Hot Hot Hot

Mum says the weather has gone mad. It is so hot that I sometimes don't know what to do with myself. Mummy tries to help me by walking me in places like the woods where it is cool. We have not been to agilty shows while the weather is so hot cos mummie says my fur coat cooks me. I don't want to be cooked!!
One day mummie said that me and Arnt Jean were going out for the day. We went to a place called Bordton on water. It was not boring though, & I loved playing there. There was a very nice little river running through the town and the water was really clear. I could see the bottom. No Daisie there were no Snarks in there. Well i don't think so!! I did find some things at the bottom of the water which i tried to pick up and when they moved I was scared out of my fur!! Mummie and Arnt Jean laughed at me and said I was a silly Billy. My name not Billy!! They said they were big stones not fishes to bite me!

After I finished playing in the water I thought the humans looked very hot so I tried to help them cool down by showering them with water. Some people do not like it!! Mummie and Arnt Jean not mind tho.
I really like Arnt Jean but she is sad at the minute cos little Cassie the poodle did die last week. I liked Cassie she showed me how to ask everyone for treats. Mummie said I knowed her since I was a little baby. I think she was a growed up girl but she was littler than me. I try to make Arnt Jean happy by giving her cuddles.
This is me Cuddling my Arnt Jean When it has been hot Mummie and I have been over to see Arnt Caroline & Muffin the Grate Dane. She is a really big girlie doggie but very kind and one of my girlfriends. we play together in her woods which are nice and cool. She also lets me borrow one of her beds to rest in. Mummie says that I look like I am in giants bed!
Another think I do if it is hot is paddle in my pool. I love my pool and sometimes I drink the water from it. Mum says it isnt really a water bowl!!! Last weekend we went to Finmere carboot and when we was there I met the lady who mummie got me from. She has one of my brothers and he was there too. we met and Mummie took our picture. Can you tell us apart? Mum says we are like two peas in a pod! Did you guess right? I'm the one on the left. Mummie says you can tell it's me because i have a big smile!!!

Sunday mummy and I had a really nice day when we visited Thornton Fete with Arnt Caroline and Muffin. Muffin is one of my girlfriends and is a Grate Dane. We went to Arnt Carolines first to play & had lunch. Then mummy and Arnty both combed and brushed us to make us smart.

[Image]It was quite a hot day so mummy & Arnt Caroline made sure we had a nice shady place to sit. It was a bit boring waiting about so mummy gave me treats and did some work with me
This is me practicing my sits and giving mummy my paw. There were a lot of people and dogs at the show. Mummy said she had entered me for some of the novelty classes cos i'm not pedigree. Mummy says it doesnt matter i'm not pedigree cos I am such a handsome boy! We had to go into a showring and stand around looking good. It was a bit odd cos usually when I am in a ring i am running and jumping over fences. This is agility but there were no jumps today!!
Mummy was very proud of me and said I was clever because I got a first place rosette for most handsome dog where i was also with pedigree dogs and i also got a first for best crossbreed. I wasn't cross honestly!!
Mum got a 4th place for handling me but she said that she didnt realise it was showring handling and thought she would have to get me to do my sits and stays!!

Today I went to Thames Agility Show at the Newbury showground. Mum drove me in our car. We met Arnt Tracey and her doggy children - Mia; Alfie & Finn; and Arnt Fran and the Reds Tally & Barkley and Daisy the red and white setter. My eyes grew very big when i saw how many people and doggies were at this show. I couldn't believe so many doggies enjoyed agility. I was just soo eggsited by it all and found it hard to follow mummies directions. I did 3 runs ( what we call our turn ). the first one I was norty and just jumped the fences as i wanted to. Mummy didn't tell me off and I needed her to help me more! the next run i had mum said I was much better and tried very hard to do the jumps in the right order. The only thing was that I jumped off and didnt make any contact points. Arnt Fran says we have to go back to target practice again in class. Half way round this run I spotted my lead so I just had to pop out to collect it in case it ran away. The lady judge said she would look after it for me so I gave it to her and completed my jumping.
My last run off the day I was quite good to start, then mum stopped and I thought .... Oh mum what is the matter lets wake you up!! so i played her up something chronic and even ran into the next ring. When they catched me mummy told me off, so I was very good after this and finished the course beautifully. This was the last run fur our day so all us doggy children had good fun playing chase and tug wiv my tuggy. Then Barkley shared my car and we cuddled up and slept all the way home. Arnt Fran says I need to practice and practice to make me really clever and agillie. Now i am home and asleep like all good doggies. Nite nite all xx
